  • ACCIONA has teamed up with the City Council of Avilés in this programme to empower and improve the job prospects of women

ACCIONA has received further recognition for its tireless pledge to support female talent, this time at the 8th Edition of the Enfoca Talento event staged by the City Council of Avilés, which was held on 7 June in the cinema hall of the Oscar Niemeyer International Cultural Centre.

The award went to ACCIONA’s Construction business, in recognition of its ongoing efforts to support the programme to improve the employability of female graduates and to foster female empowerment and proactivity. Public-private partnership is a key part of this project involving the company.

Eliana Freile, head of Construction Research and Business Development for Northern Spain at ACCIONA, collected the award on the company’s behalf from the mayor of Avilés, Maravi Monteserín.

Aside from the “Business Committed to Female Talent” diploma handed out to the businesses taking part in this eighth edition of the event, further awards were handed out to the women also taking part, which culminated with 60% of the participants successfully finding a job.

FURTHER RECOGNITION

This latest recognition from the City Council of Avilés can be added to the other accolades previously earned by the company, such as the award from the National Construction Confederation (CNC) for the Sustainable 50:50 project, which encompasses numerous national and international initiatives to achieve the integration of at least 50% of women in the work teams. ACCIONA has previously earned other awards such as the “Woman Builders 2021” award from the Chilean Chamber of Construction; the “Woman in Construction” badge from the Spanish Ministry of Housing; and the “Organisation that Inspires 2021” award from the Women in Senior Management Network.
