  • The blockchain-based platform traces the 100% renewable origin of ACCIONA’s energy, and has been listed among the WEF’s top innovation solutions from the energy sector

GREENCHAIN®, ACCIONA’s platform that guarantees the renewable origin of the company’s energy, has been selected by the World Economic Forum (WEF) as one of the most innovative energy solutions of the decade.

The WEF has listed ACCIONA’s GREENCHAIN® application among the most influential and disruptive initiatives in the energy sector, due to the project’s clear contribution to the global energy transition. The WEF’s selection of innovative applications is included in the “Global Innovations from the Energy Sector 2010-2020” report.

The GREENCHAIN® application, based on blockchain technology, enables clients to check – in real time and from any location in the world – that 100% of the electricity they consume is clean. The platform is a valuable tool for those corporate and institutional clients that have established commitments to use clean and renewable energy in their sustainability policies.

The “Global Innovations from the Energy Sector 2010-2020' report contains the top entries from a contest that the WEF launched to identify and highlight examples of disruptive innovations from the energy sector over the past decade. After all the applications were evaluated by a group of experts, the WEF selected the most innovative proposals that contribute the most to accelerating the energy transition worldwide.
