MIXED USE. The building will have 210 rooms and 33 exclusive homes for its customers.
ACCIONA Living & Culture has reached an agreement with the Hyatt group for it to operate a luxury hotel of The Standard brand in the building that the company is developing in Colonia Tabacalera, a historic area of Mexico City under transformation, with a growing artistic, cultural and gastronomic appeal.
The Standard brand was recently acquired by the Hyatt Group and has establishments in major cities around the world such as New York, Miami, London, Ibiza and Bangkok.
This hotel, the first that the North American chain will manage in Latin America, will have 210 rooms in fifteen floors. ACCIONA Living & Culture will also develop 33 branded residences that will benefit from the hotel's styling and facilities. The facility will be operational in 2026, coinciding with the World Cup being held in Mexico, the United States and Canada.
Colonia Tabacalera is one of the cultural hearts of Mexico City, with iconic locations such as Plaza de la República and historic buildings such as the Frontón México, the National Lottery building and the Monument to the Revolution.
“This project with The Standard is an important milestone for ACCIONA in its expansion into the hotel sector,” said Andrés Pan de Soraluce, CEO of ACCIONA Living & Culture. “Our team is committed to delivering a hotel that exceeds guests' expectations while contributing positively to the local community and the environment.”
The building has the highest standards of quality and environmental certification, meaning it will contribute to social improvement and environmental revitalization.
NOTABLE TRACK RECORD
ACCIONA, which has been present in Mexico for almost 50 years, entered the country's real estate business in 2008 with the acquisition of Parque Reforma, a major mixed-use development in Mexico City.
Recently, the company achieved the Efficiency Certificate (the second highest standard within Mexico’s three existing certificate categories) for Parque Reforma, granted by the city's Sustainable Certification and Environmental Efficiency program.
The company is also developing a 237-unit residential project in Mexico City, Skytown Insurgentes, on Insurgentes Avenue, very close to Paseo de la Reforma, and it plans to develop 46 luxury homes in Polanco.
In addition, in Acapulco (Guerrero), it is developing 275 luxury homes on the beachfront in four phases, the first of which, with 53 homes, is already being delivered.
In the state of Quintana Roo, it plans to develop 282 homes in Playa del Carmen and almost 300 in Mayakoba.
