- The company was awarded the contract for the supply of electricity to the institution for one year
- The agreement, estimated at 4.5 kilowatt-hours/year, will avoid the emission of 4,324 metric tons of CO2 from coal-fired power stations
ACCIONA Green Energy Developments, the energy marketing subsidiary of the ACCIONA Group, has been awarded the supply of electricity to the main center of the Spanish National Library (Biblioteca Nacional) for the present year. The company will deliver an estimated 4.5 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of 100% renewable power, avoiding the emission of 4,324 metric tons of CO2 to the atmosphere from conventional coal-fired power stations in the process.
Starting January 1st – the date for the signature of the contract according to a resolution published in the Official State Gazette (BOE) on February 5th - ACCIONA Green Energy Developments has supplied renewable electricity to the National Library located in the Paseo de Recoletos in Madrid. This follows the award of a public tender called for the purpose by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports. The contract is for 620,657.85 euros.
All the energy marketed by ACCIONA is completely renewable, and its origin is certified by the National Markets and Competition Commission.
“We are very pleased to incorporate an institution with the prestige of the Biblioteca Nacional into our clean energy customer portfolio, a development that will surely have a demonstrative effect in terms of increasing awareness of the need to promote the use of sustainable energy in all domains, including culture”, says ACCIONA Green Energy Developments Managing Director Santiago Gómez Ramos.
