  • PIONEER. ACCIONA is the first company listed on the IBEX 35 to obtain the Bequal seal in the Plus 80 category

ACCIONA received the Bequal Plus 80 seal in recognition of its performance in inclusive and socially responsible disability management. This achievement reflects the company's commitment to diversity, accessibility and equity.

To obtain this certification, the company’s performance was evaluated in aspects such as strategy and leadership, people, accessibility, responsible purchasing and social action.

ACCIONA scored 81.22 out of 100 points, thus becoming the first IBEX 35 company to obtain the seal in the Plus 80 category. This score highlights the comprehensive nature of the firm’s commitment to inclusion and diversity through its People strategy.

The company’s twelve Diversity and Inclusion Committees for its various business divisions and countries are a key aspect that contributed to achieving the Bequal Plus 80 seal, as well as its specific policies and alliances with organizations such as the ONCE Foundation and the Inserta Foundation.

In order to advance this commitment, ACCIONA has a Disability Office, a center of comprehensive advice and individualized support that helps people with disabilities already working or newly hired at ACCIONA, as well as managers and colleagues who have any related questions or needs.

The Disability Office, a pioneering initiative in Spain’s corporate sphere, concentrates the knowledge acquired by the company over more than three decades of active work in the inclusion of people with disabilities, so that this know-how is accessible to all areas of the firm and all the countries in which it operates.

The Office is contributing to the creation of better physical and digital accessibility resources in order to offer an optimal employee experience for professionals with disabilities. In addition, it promotes procedures for the recruitment of these professionals and their development with equal opportunities.

COMMITMENT

The Bequal certificate is based on third-party evaluation to determine companies’ degree of commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility and Disability in essential aspects such as strategy and leadership, senior management’s engagement with people with disabilities, human resource management, compliance with inclusive and equal opportunity regulations and policies in all recruitment procedures, access to employment, career advancement and training.

Furthermore, organizations that receive the Bequal certificate demonstrate their commitment and contribution to the achievement of the SDGs, especially SDG 8 on decent work for all and SDG 10 on reducing inequality, among others.

The Bequal Foundation, the entity that grants this certification, has been working since 2011 to establish a systematic model of certifiable indicators, which brings together all the knowledge and experience of its founding organizations: the Spanish Committee of Representatives of People with Disabilities (CERMI), the ONCE Foundation, FEACEM and the Seeliger y Conde Foundation.
