- After a successful roll-out in several Spanish cities, ACCIONA is taking the service to other countries.

ACCIONA is rolling out its scooter sharing service in Lisbon with an initial fleet of 300 electric scooters, on top of the over 2,000 it has already deployed in Madrid, Valencia, Seville and Greater Barcelona.
The scooters may be use in downtown and Greater Lisbon, including nearby tourist towns; trips must commence and end in the service territory, which comprises Lisbon's historical neighbourhoods (such as Campo de Ourique, Bairro Alto, Alfama, Castelo, Mouraria, Belém and Santos) as well as the main residential areas (Parque das Nações and Telherias) and the airport.
Lisbon is the first city outside Spain where ACCIONA is to offer this service, which is part of its sustainable, shared electric mobility strategy.
In line with ACCIONA's commitment to decarbonisation, its scooter sharing app provides information about the CO2 emissions that are avoided by using a shared scooter instead of a conventional private vehicle.
The scooters, driven by rechargeable batteries with the equivalent power of a 125 cc engine, offer two ride modes: Standard ('S'), with speeds of up to 50 km/h, for use in the city; and Custom ('C'), which can reach speeds up to 80 km/h, for highway use.
The service is free of charge for Lisbon residents until 2 June. Thereafter, the service fee will range from €0.26 to €0.28 per minute, depending on the ride mode, and will be billed per second of actual use.
Users may take the scooters outside the service area and may put them in 'pause' mode, during which they are reserved, at a very low rate of €0.05 per minute.
How the service works
Once a user registers using the ACCIONA mobility app or on the website www.acciona-motosharing.com/pt/lisboa, they can see the exact location of free scooters and reserve one.
The user can halt a journey for up to six hours anywhere in the city, but trips must conclude inside the service area. The service is available for 20 hours per day, from 06:00 am to 02:00 am.There is a 24/7 Customer Care Service and a freephone for dealing with queries and incidents.
The maintenance crew, which uses all-electric vehicles, swaps in fully recharged batteries during the night.
ACCIONA's incursion into the vehicle sharing business evidences its know-how in developing sustainable solutions linked to infrastructure and transport.

ACCIONA has been operating in Portugal since 1948 and has an established presence in the Portuguese market in the automobile, healthcare, food, petrochemical and energy industries.
It has built landmark projects such as the Alqueva dam on the Guadiana river, which held Europe's largest reservoir at the time.
