  • ACCIONA was present in the 1st edition of the Feria In(3D)ustry From Needs to Solutions, organized by Fira Barcelona, the international event which analyzes the present and the future of additive manufacturing technology or 3D printing. Its first attempt done with micro-concrete with additive manufacturing at large scale was shown.

Jose Daniel García Espinel, Chief of Technology Transfer of ACCIONA, took part as speaker for a presentation in the Architecture & Habitat stand, presenting the innovative possibilities of the technology.

Likewise, during the event, ACCIONA also displayed a part of a wall 1,35m tall that was built using micro-concrete with additive manufacturing in order to show the technology’s flexibility in the construction of elements made of concrete at a large scale without the need for molds. This particular piece, named Modulated Wall, was designed by the Institute of Advanced Architecture of Catalunya (IAAC). ACCIONA Engineering developed the structural calculation for the parts built with this new technology.
