  • ASSETS: The e-mobility company owns and operates since 2022 Shell’s charging network outside of its service stations.
  • DEPLOYMENT: The deal includes 396 operating charging points and 321 awaiting grid connection or under construction.

ACCIONA Energía has taken a significant step in its electric mobility strategy by acquiring Cable Energía, the company that owns and operates Shell Recharge network in Spain and Portugal, outside of Shell’s service stations.

The acquired network comprises 396 charging points across the Iberian Peninsula, strategically located in high-traffic areas such as restaurants, shopping centers, supermarkets, hotels, and highways.

The deal also includes a development pipeline with 321 charging points awaiting grid connection or under construction.

With this acquisition, ACCIONA Energía strengthens its presence in the electric mobility sector, expanding its EV charging infrastructure across high-traffic and high-demand locations and accelerating the deployment of a smart, renewable-powered infrastructure.

The company entered the electric vehicle charging market at the end of 2021 through a dedicated business unit as part of its strategy to provide a wide range of decarbonization solutions to its energy customers.

As of today, ACCIONA Energía offers access to more than 4,000 charging points, both owned and from third parties, located in urban centers and in the main interurban routes. The company is currently installing the largest on-street charging hub in Madrid, and it has signed agreements to deploy over 1,000 new public charging points across Spain, ensuring strong future growth and expansion.
