Today, ACCIONA Cultura will start staging Navigalia. The magic is in the river, a multimedia show designed by the company for the Seville City Council, which can be enjoyed at the Salt Docks in four daily showings (at 19:00, 20:00, 21:00 y 22:00) until the 4th of January, except on the 24th, 25th and 31st of December and the 1st of January.

The show is based on a Christmas story and lasts about 15 minutes. Navigalia is a sort of acronym combining the words “Christmas” and “navigation” in Spanish. It will attract more than 18,000 people a day. It can be seen from the Triana Bridge to the area around Chillida's Monument to Tolerance.

The 4,250m2 site, known as the Salt Docks, will focus on the Guadalquivir River, as it will be the main surface for the projections, reminiscent of the Seville Expo '92 lake show, also designed and produced by ACCIONA Cultura.

In Navigalia. The magic is in the river, ACCIONA Cultura will use water screens, video mapping techniques on the Betis Street wall, robotic lighting and special effects, as well as an original soundtrack, to tell the story of Esperanza, a Sevillian girl who embarks on a magical adventure, in which she will discover the hidden city where the Three Wise Men arrive with gifts for all the children of Seville.

This large-format show, with capacity for about 4,600 spectators per showing, according to the city council’s estimates, will be projected onto three different surfaces: the first is a water screen on the Guadalquivir River; there is a second 40-meter surface, with three large water screens; and a third surface is on the Triana river bank, which will feature a 120-meter-wide canvas.

The audiovisual show, guided by a voice-over that will accompany the various characters’ speeches, will have a soundtrack with whimsical Christmas connotations, as well as various magical and evocative sound effects, which will enhance all 3D video compositions.

As for the lighting, a series of robotic lights on both sides of the river will be deployed to perform colorful choreographies both aerially and on the water surface itself. The Triana Bridge will also be illuminated and video-mapped with lasers in total synchronization with the soundtrack of the show.

The public must book tickets on the website provided by the city council (www.lamagiaestaenelrio.com) and will access the show through Radio Sevilla Street to then exit towards the Tower of Gold. The show will not be visible from Betis Street and Paseo Colon, where fences will be installed.
