To date, Düsseldorf Airport only had two handling operators (one private, which has renewed its license, and the airport itself). ACCIONA Airport Services joins them after competing with the biggest handling operators in the world in a tender.

In Germany, ACCIONA also provides airport services in Frankfurt, where it holds one of the two handling licenses up to 2020. Frankfurt is the third busiest airport in Europe in terms of passenger traffic (61 million in 2015) after London (Heathrow) and Paris (Charles de Gaulle). ACCIONA Airport Services is also present in a number of activities in the airports of Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona and Gran Canaria.
