- iXPA, ACCIONA’s international internship training program, concludes its second edition, training 50 new young talents to take part in the company’s projects
ACCIONA, a global sustainable infrastructure company, in collaboration with the University of São Paulo (USP) and the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM), held the closing ceremony of the second edition of its international internship training program, iXPA. Aimed at recent engineering graduates, the program offers a specialization diploma with a double degree in Project Management from both universities, as well as a unique professional development experience: it combines high-level academic training with practical experience on the São Paulo Metro Line 6-Orange project.
GLOBAL DEVELOPMENT
The iXPA offers participants an intensive 12-month program of training focused on managing major projects using the company’s know-how. The program develops key skills to meet the challenges of global engineering and major infrastructure and prepares participants for continued career growth, with an emphasis on international mobility, as participants are reassigned between the different countries where ACCIONA operates at the end of the program.
The partnership with USP and UPM is key to the success of iXPA and demonstrates the company’s strategy to invest in the development of the next generation of engineers in Brazil and globally, committed to sustainable infrastructure solutions. ACCIONA’s commitment to gender equality is also reflected in this project through the “STEM Female Role Models” initiative, which gives participants the opportunity to be inspired by examples of women’s success in the sector.
The closing event included a review of the past year and a time for participants and managers to get to know each other. During the event, the young people worked in teams and had the opportunity to express their gratitude to the leaders and mentors who contributed to their professional development and prepared them for future challenges. On the second day of the event, a pre-evaluation of the projects took place, with various company executives providing guidance and feedback to the participants after each presentation, adding even more value to the final work.
