ACCIONA, together with Vialterra, celebrated today, February 13th, the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Health Center and High Resolution Center in El Palo (Málaga), marking the start of construction. The event was attended by the President of the Regional Government of the Government of Andalusia, Juan Manuel Moreno Bonilla; the Counsellor of Health and Consumer Affairs of Andalusia, María del Rocío Hernández Soto; the Counsellor for Economy, Finance, and European Funds of the Government of Andalusia, Carolina España; the Mayor of Málaga, Francisco de la Torre; and ACCIONA representatives like the CEO of Construction Spain, Portugal and Africa, Justo Vicente Pelegrini; the Southern Area Director, Manuel García Alconchel; and the Area Building Director, Jesús Gutiérrez.
ACCIONA, in a joint venture with Vialterra, will carry out construction of the new Health Center, which has been awarded by the Andalusian Health Service of the Regional Government of Andalusia, with a completion period of 22 months and a budget of €19 million.
The new Health Center, which will house a High Resolution Process Center with specialty consultations, advanced emergencies and primary care, will be located in the El Palo neighborhood, near the Playa Virginia area and the El Candado housing development. The building will have four above-ground floors dedicated to healthcare and two below ground. Basement 1 will house the radiology area, and basement 2, along with the remaining open space in basement 1, will be used for parking.
Of the 11,400 square meters of floor space, 5,500 square meters will be used for healthcare, divided into common areas, primary care and specialized care areas. Specifically, primary care will include 36 adult consultation rooms, five pediatric consultation rooms, three multipurpose consultation rooms, a dental consultation room and a lactation room, among others. Meanwhile, the speciality area will include 13 gynecology, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, cardiology and respiratory consultation rooms, six examination rooms, six nurse consultation rooms, six technical consultation rooms, one pre-op room and two operating theaters. In addition, the emergency department will include six consultation rooms, three treatment rooms and an emergency area.
