The autonomy of the electric loader allows it to complete the working day with a reserve of about 40%, even in high temperatures, thus demonstrating its robustness and reliability.
ACCIONA has become the first Spanish company to test the LiuGong 856HE 100% electric wheel loader on one of its construction sites, marking a significant milestone in the adoption of sustainable construction machinery. The 21-ton equipment, featuring a battery capacity of approximately 500 kWh, had previously undergone successful evaluations in the United Kingdom and Norway, earning CE certification.
The company has introduced this innovative machinery in the works of the 31-kilometer high-speed section between Lorca (Murcia) and Pulpí (Almería) in order to assess its performance and working capacity under real conditions.
Through this initiative, ACCIONA reaffirms its commitment to the transition to a low-carbon economy and advances in its goal to decarbonize its construction sites.
ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY
The LiuGong 856HE loader, equipped with a 423 kWh lithium-ion phosphate (LFP) battery, offers a loading capacity of 3.7 m³ in its bucket. It features an impressive recharging capability, reaching from 12% to 100% battery charge in approximately 75 minutes with a maximum charging power of 300 kW, enabling efficient and continuous work shifts.
The initial tests conducted by ACCIONA are delivering positive outcomes, surpassing expectations. The machine's autonomy, given the current workload of the project, allows for the completion of the workday with a reserve of around 40%, even under the high temperatures experienced in recent days, demonstrating its robustness and reliability.
