  • The work will improve traffic, road and safety conditions on the A-66, N-630, N-432 and N-432a roads

ACCIONA, in a joint venture with Visever S.L., has been awarded a contract for the maintenance and operation of several roads in sector 5 of Badajoz (A-66, N-630, N-432 and N-432a), including all related service roads, state-owned roads and residual sections used as roads.

With a budget of more than €11.4 million and a term of three years (which may be rolled over), the project will take place within the broader framework of the maintenance programme of the State Road Network to guarantee traffic conditions, road safety and security in the area.

The work envisioned in the contract includes actions such as accident surveillance and response; winter maintenance and communications; maintenance of facilities; and road maintenance, such as clearing and cleaning of ditches.

A decarbonisation plan will also be deployed as part of the project, which will include emission reduction and offsetting measures with the aim of making the project carbon neutral within five years from the start of the contract.

Meanwhile, in order to reduce accidents among site maintenance personnel, the SIPT (Smart Worker Protection System) technological system, developed by ACCIONA, will be implemented.

This new contract is a further show of ACCIONA’s firm commitment to road safety, sustainability and the well-being of citizens, by helping to ensure a modern, safe and environmentally friendly road network.
