With the support of CLG Europe, ACCIONA played a key role in the creation of the Spanish Green Growth Group (Grupo Español para el Crecimiento Verde). This initiative was established to foster collaboration between companies and governments, create a roadmap (Barcelona Declaration) toward a low-carbon economy, and integrate climate policies into business strategies, ultimately as a green growth model in Spain should be.
In recent years, the Spanish Green Growth Group has experienced significant growth, with more than 50 companies joining. ACCIONA actively contributed to this expansion, holding the position of Secretary General and leading the Energy Transition Working Group.
ACCIONA has been a full member of CLG Europe since 2009. This initiative brings together European business leaders who recognise the urgent need to develop long-term policies to address climate change.
In 2022, ACCIONA signed a letter promoted by CLG Europe urging the European Commission President, Ursula von der Leyen, and EU Parliament members to expedite the transition to a green and decarbonised economy. The letter included examples, such as ACCIONA Energía, to demonstrate how European companies are already equipped to provide decarbonised solutions.
ACCIONA also actively participated in tasks forces and strategic meetings organised by CLG Europe during the year.

Its objective is to integrate social action into companies’ business strategies.
In this way, both the Foundation and the companies involved work to alleviate the needs of the most disadvantaged groups, particularly in times of crisis. More than 120 companies have collaborated with this foundation, which was established in November 2009. ACCIONA has been a member of SERES since July 2011 and has been part of its Operating Committee since 2015.
