Canal de Isabel II commissioned ACCIONA to remodel the Alcalá Oeste WWTP in 2014 Madrid, Spain See on Google Maps
It involves the remodeling of the existing biological treatment into a hybrid biofilter with fixed biomass on a mobile support. This contract is included in the actions for the development of the National Water Quality Plan at the Alcalá Oeste WWTP.

This WWTP had a capacity to treat 74,818 m3/d for a population of 374,090 inhabitants, but to adapt to the new legislation in force, the design flow was adapted to 59,000 m3/d, this is for an equivalent population of 280,250 inhabitants. In addition, the four lines of the existing biological reactor were remodeled, with a total volume of 15,547.2 m3, in a hybrid MBBR-Active sludge reactor
