The Tahivilla wind farm at Tarifa (Cádiz province) will go from 98 old wind turbines to 13 Nordex machines.

ACCIONA Energía is repowering the Tahivilla wind farm. The project will consist of the replacement of the present turbines for more modern and efficient models, optimizing their operation and increasing their capacity to generate clean energy.

The replacement of the old wind turbines with latest-generation models will mean an increase in capacity from 78.4 MW to 84.4 MW, with the wind farm’s evacuation capacity remaining the same.

Once it has been repowered, the wind farm’s production will increase by 72%, going from clean electricity equivalent to the demand from 42,000 Spanish households to a level able to cover the energy needs of 73,000 households, avoiding the emission of 66,150 tonnes of CO2 to the atmosphere every year in the process.

Dismantling of the old wind turbines started in May 2024, followed by the installation of the new machines. Their entry into service is planned for 2026. The wind farm will thus go from 98 wind turbines to 13 more efficient machines.
