21,600m³/day

We bring reverse osmosis to Peru

ACCIONA will undertake the operation and maintenance of the desalination plant in the new refinery in Talara (Peru).

The Talara SWDP has a production capacity of 2,200 m³/day. It is the first desalination plant using reverse osmosis technology at the industrial level in Peru. The contract includes the operation of a seawater catchment system with a capacity of 13 m³/second and a 250-litre/second desalination plant, equivalent to 7,884,000 m³ a year.

The contract will involve the production of 21,600 m³/day of demineralized water, the catchment and supply of seawater, services related to the start-up of the plant and the supply of demineralized water for 10 years, the implementation of a closed-circuit cooing system and the treatment and discharge of industrial and sanitary effluents from the new Talara refinery in Peru.

The project consolidates the relations between ACCIONA and PETROPERU, which date back to 2001, when the 2,000 m³/day desalination plant that ACCIONA has operated since then entered service. It also strengthens ACCIONA’s commitment to sustainability and the social policies jointly developed with the Peruvian group.
