ACCIONA, in collaboration with CPB contractors and Ghella, is building the first section of tunnels for the Subruban Rail Loop East project in Melbourne, Australia. This project, valued at AU$3.6 billion (€2.2 billion), includes the construction of 16 of the project's 26 kilometers of twin rail tunnels, connecting the Melbourne suburbs of Cheltenham and Glen Waverley. It also includes six new underground subway stations.

Suburban Rail Loop East will connect major employment, health, education, and retail destinations in Melbourne's east and southeast. The line will reduce travel times, connect commuters along the Gippsland corridor and its construction will create up to 8,000 direct jobs. Construction began in June 2022 and trains will be running by 2035, once completed, it will remove 600,000 cars from the road per day.
