The Siekierkowski bridge connects the Mokotów and Wawer districts in Warsaw. ACCIONA was awarded the 'Architecture and Construction Prize 2003' for this project.

The structure, which crosses the Vistula River, has a total length of 826.50 m and is 33.40 m wide. It consists of three elements: A 500 m long cable-stayed bridge over the main river bed, supported by two 90.7 m high H-shaped towers, a 251 m long bridge based on composite structure on the left bank lagoon and a 75.5 m long bridge on the right bank lagoon.

ACCIONA has been operating for a decade in the construction and real estate sectors in Poland, through Mostostal Warszawa and ACCIONA Nieruchomosc. Poland is one of the key markets in ACCIONA's globalization strategy. The company has set itself the target that 70% of its business revenue come from international markets, compared to the current 20%.

Over the years, ACCIONA, together with Mostostal, has executed many major products, such as:

  • The Wroclaw Academy of Medicine.
  • The Siekierkowski Bridge over the River Vistula in Warsaw, which was awarded a prize by the Polish Ministry of Infrastructure in the category of Architecture and Construction.
