1,3million
people
Will benefit 1.3 million people in the regions of Cajamarca, Lambayeque and Tumbes.
INDUSTRY, INNOVATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE
Build resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialization and foster innovation
Economic growth, social advancement and action against the climate emergency depend largely on investment in infrastructure, sustainable industrial development and technological progress. Today, about 1 billion people live more than 2 km from a roadway, 940 million live without electricity, and 663 million lack improved drinking water sources.
ACCIONA participates in the entire infrastructure construction value chain, from the identification of opportunity, design and execution, to the operation and maintenance of the constructed works, using the most advanced and innovative techniques.
Performance quality and safety are two of the criteria that maximize the company's value proposal in the development of large infrastructure projects and that differentiate it from other competitors in the construction field.
This comprehensive project, with a total investment of 54 million US dollars (54.8 million euros), includes the design, financing, construction, operation and maintenance of a electrical grid that will benefit 1.3 million people in the regions of Cajamarca, Lambayeque and Tumbes, in the north of the country.
Both links will contribute to ensuring a quality, specialized and sustainable electricity service, promoting new productive, commercial and tourist activities in the regions of influence. The duration of each concession will be 30 years from commercial operation, scheduled for February 2026 and April 2025, respectively.
220kV Reque - Nueva Carhuaquero link, substations, transmission lines and associated extensions
This project, commissioned by the Peruvian Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM), consists of the expansion of transmission capacity between Chiclayo and Cajamarca. An additional 300MVA will be added to the existing 150MVA, benefiting 1.1 million people. The initiative not only responds to the growing demand for electricity in the north, but also strengthens the electricity interconnection between Peru and Ecuador.
Nueva Tumbes 220/60kV - 75MVA substation and 60kV Nueva Tumbes - Tumbes Transmission Line
This second project, also part of the contract with Proinversión, will benefit 246,000 people in the region. The main focus is to avoid the overloading of the old Zorritos substation and to cover the projected growth of electricity demand in the area for the next 15 years.
