INDUSTRY, INNOVATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE
Build resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialization and foster innovation
Economic growth, social advancement and action against the climate emergency depend largely on investment in infrastructure, sustainable industrial development and technological progress. Today, about 1 billion people live more than 2 km from a roadway, 940 million live without electricity, and 663 million lack improved drinking water sources.
ACCIONA participates in the entire infrastructure construction value chain, from the identification of opportunity, design and execution, to the operation and maintenance of the constructed works, using the most advanced and innovative techniques.
Performance quality and safety are two of the criteria that maximize the company's value proposal in the development of large infrastructure projects and that differentiate it from other competitors in the construction field.
The bridge forms part of the Bilbao eastern bypass. It is an arch bridge with a prestressed concrete upper deck, 316 m long with 14 spans, the seven central spans resting on an arch with a span of 148 m and a height of 50 m. The deck is 25 m wide and has four traffic lanes with their corresponding pavements, shoulders and median. The deck is 25 m wide and accommodates four carriageways with their corresponding pavements, shoulders and median.
The section of the arch is a tricellular box with a variable edge, which is built by successive segments of its full width and 6 m long each. The bridge was built by cantilevering the arch together with the piers and deck, provisionally triangulating the structure with braces and directing the forces towards both abutments, which are in turn anchored to the rock.
