SUSTAINABLE CITIES AND COMMUNITIES
Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable
Today, cities represent 3 % of the planet's surface and concentrate more than 50 % of the population. A figure that will rise to 70 % by 2050. In addition, cities generate more than 80 % of the world's gross domestic product (GDP).
In addition to facilitating access to essential services for life - such as energy and water - ACCIONA contributes to making cities places of productive well-being in which to live, favouring people's socio-economic development.
The project was finished in 2008 and will be turned over to the government in 2035.
Since 2008, ACCIONA has been providing both integral and energy management services to the hospital facility.
It provides a wide array of services, including specialist cleaning, technical and maintenance services, energy services, catering, security and administrative personnel, waste and storage management, surgical equipment sterilisation, gardening, and car park security and operation.
In 2012, it also began providing energy services, remotely managing the hospital facility's energy consumption. Through the Control Centre for Digital Energy Services – a pioneer in the industry – ACCIONA is able to remotely supervise and monitor natural gas and electricity consumption in real time, tracking and optimising energy use, providing alerts of any deviations and proposing new operating methods. Each year, it improves the hospital's level of energy efficiency.
The concession offered non-clinical services such as the restaurant, laundry, logistics and others.
