The Marga Marga Provincial Hospital, wholly developed and constructed by ACCIONA, is located in Villa Alemana in the Valparaíso region of Chile. It belongs to the Viña del Mar–Quillota health service under the National Health System.

ACCIONA is designing and constructing this complex that will provide inpatient services and outpatient care with a total capacity of 282 beds.

The project includes construction of the entire Hospital Infrastructure, with a total constructed floor area of some 75,188m2.

Construction is scheduled to be completed during the first half of 2024.

The new Provincial Hospital in the Valparaíso Region is the first infrastructure project in Chile to be built with a gender perspective. A team of 35 women will begin construction of the new hospital's nursery building, making it the first infrastructure project of its kind in the country. The nursery building will be built over a period of 12 months and will cover an area of 750m2, distributed over a floor 6 meters high. At the end of the work, the workers will have continuity of employment in the construction of the Emergency Medical Service (SAMU) building, so that their integration into the industry has a future projection.

The general distribution of the project involves construction of the following areas:

  • The Inpatient Building, called the Main Building, with seven storeys on the base isolation layer, plus the heliport level, and includes the services for critical care, emergencies, wards, ICUS and hospitalisation, among others.
  • The outpatient building, called Outpatient Care, has four storeys on the base isolation layer, with medical, odontology, psychiatric and kinesiology consultation rooms, among others.

In addition to the two main buildings, the project includes construction of a Children’s Nursery Building, emergency services (SAMU), an auditorium, a multipurpose court, three security guard huts, 13 ambulance bays, 515 car parking spaces, 300 bicycle spaces and more than 1,000 m2 of landscaped areas, which are crossed by a river bed that will be covered by an arched truss to provide urban integration for the project.
