Located approximately 6 kilometers east of Bow Island, in the County of Forty Mile No. 8, the Forty Mile Wind Farm is ACCIONA Energía’s fifth project in Canada and, once complete, it will be the company’s largest in North America and among the ten biggest in the country.

The project, which is expected to be fully operational by spring 2025, will generate enough clean energy to power more than 85,000 homes.

This installation consists of 49 Nordex wind turbines, each with a capacity of 5.7 MW and a tower height of 108 meters. Phase I of the project, with 280 MW is currently nearing completion. A Phase II with an additional 120 MW may follow up.

ACCIONA Energía is collaborating closely with stakeholders, including local governmental agencies and landowners, to ensure smooth development and maximize the project’s positive impact on the community.
