The new water treatment plant helps to meet the region's drinking water demand up to the year 2030.

The DWTP is located in the municipality of Oum Azza, some 30 kilometres from Rabat. It is intended to improve drinking water supply in an area with 5 million inhabitants and which has the country’s highest population growth.
