About the Project & Opportunity:

Acciona Construction has been in an ECI contract with our client to deliver the Eyre Peninsula Desalination Plant. With construction activity ready to start imminently, we are looking to add to our delivery team by engaging a Senior Mechanical Project Manager.

This role will initially be out of our project technical offices in Adelaide’s CBD and then transition to the Port Lincoln location. We will support relocation to the project and other associated costs, either through relocation or FIFO arrangements.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager – M&E to oversee the Eyre Peninsula project and take responsibility for the broader South Australia region in Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) services. This role requires extensive experience in large-scale infrastructure projects, particularly in mining, water, and other complex engineering environments. The successful candidate will ensure the effective coordination and control of all engineering activities, including technical oversight, inspection, planning, procurement, and quality control, in line with ACCIONA’s high standards.

Project Development & Delivery

  • Defined and implemented construction methodologies aligned with asset owner requirements.

  • Ensure project designs meet budget and constructability constraints.

  • Identify and mitigate design risks to enhance construction efficiency.

Project Scheduling & Financial Management

  • Develop and manage cost plans and project cash flows.

  • Oversee contract programs to track obligations and manage claims effectively.

  • Ensure risk management and compliance processes are integrated into project delivery.

  • Manage Extension of Time (EOT) processes and contractual submissions.

Demobilisation & Revenue Maximisation

  • Develop and implement project demobilisation strategies.

  • Identify opportunities for variations and additional scope of work.

  • Support bidding and tendering activities to drive revenue growth

    Required Skills and Competencies

    • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage cross-functional teams.

    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

    • Expertise in project management methodologies, budgeting, and scheduling.

    • High-level analytical skills to navigate complex technical and policy issues.

    • Commitment to safety, environmental sustainability, and social impact.

    • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.

    • Construction Induction Training (CIT/White Card) (face-to-face training only).

    • A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

    • Minimum 10 years of leadership experience managing project teams.

    • In-depth expertise in engineering project management, site management, and risk assessment.
